Bay Port Senior Scholarship

There are two $1,500 scholarships awarded to graduating seniors at Bay Port High School in the Howard-Suamico School District. No restrictions apply for students applying for the scholarships. Scholarships are awarded by committee regarding the following criteria; GPA, class rank, extracurricular activities, community service, work experience and leadership abilities.

Monies are granted upon completion of the first semester at university provided completion of the first semester of studies, and a minimum  2.0 or 2.5 GPA is achieved.

2021 Optimist Essay Scholarship Competition   

Topic this year is: “Reaching Your Dreams by Choosing Optimism.”

There will be three Howard-Suamico Club level winners with first place receiving a $250 scholarship and 2nd and 3rd place each receiving a medallion. 1st place will advance to district competition where a $2,500 college scholarship will be awarded.

  • The contest is open to students under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2020 and not enrolled as a degree seeking student at a post-secondary institution. There is no minimum age.
  • Student must be enrolled in school within the Howard-Suamico School District boundaries.
  • Each contestant must prepare his or her own essay.
  • Essay must be between 700 and 800 words.
