Scholarships
For 2025 there will be two scholarships of $1,500 each awarded to graduating seniors of Bay Port High School, who reside in the Howard-Suamico School District.
Applications are:
- Available from a Bay Port High School counselor.
- Due April 25th and submitted to a Bay Port counselor.
Scholarships are awarded by a committee, considering the following criteria; GPA, class ranking, extracurricular activities, community service, work experience, and leadership abilities.
An awarded scholarship qualifies to be distributed upon completion of the first semester at a university or technical school and with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5.

2022 Optimist Essay Scholarship Competition
Topic this year’s:” How Does An Optimistic Mindset Change My Tomorrow?”
There will be three Howard-Suamico Club level winners with first place receiving a $250 scholarship and 2nd and 3rd place each receiving a medallion. 1st place will advance to district competition where a $2,500 college scholarship will be awarded.
- The contest is open to students under the age of 19 as of October 1, at the start of the current school year and not enrolled as a degree seeking student at a post-secondary institution. There is no minimum age.
- Bay Port High School Student must reside in within the Howard-Suamico School District boundaries.
- Each contestant must prepare his or her own essay.
- Essay must be between 700 and 800 words.
