Bay Port Senior Scholarship
There are two $1,500 scholarships awarded to graduating seniors at Bay Port High School in the Howard-Suamico School District. No restrictions apply for students applying for the scholarships. Scholarships are awarded by committee regarding the following criteria; GPA, class rank, extracurricular activities, community service, work experience and leadership abilities.
Monies are granted upon completion of the first semester at university provided completion of the first semester of studies, and a minimum 2.0 or 2.5 GPA is achieved.

2020 Optimist Essay Scholarship Competition
Topic this year is: “Is Optimism the Key to Achieving the Dreams you iMagine?”
There will be three Howard-Suamico Club level winners with first place receiving a $250 scholarship and 2nd and 3rd place each receiving a medallion. 1st place will advance to district competition where a $2,500 college scholarship will be awarded.
- The contest is open to students under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2019 and not enrolled as a degree seeking student at a post-secondary institution. There is no minimum age.
- Student must be enrolled in school within the Howard-Suamico School District boundaries.
- Each contestant must prepare his or her own essay.
- Essay must be between 700 and 800 words.

2020 Optimist Oratorical Scholarship Competition
Topic: Just iMagine a World without Boundaries
Two competitors will win $250 Howard-Suamico Club Scholarships and advance to the Optimist district competition at Tundra Lodge in Green Bay on May 2 (zone competition may be required prior to district)
Three competitors will win scholarships at district competition. District scholarships: 1st place – $2,500, 2nd place – $1,500, 3rd place – $1,000. First place advances to regional competition.
One contestant will win a $5,000 scholarship at regional competition July 15 in St. Louis, Missouri. Winner will advance to international competition also in St. Louis on July 16-17.
International competition scholarships are $5,000, $10,000 and $15,000.

- Speech must be between four and five minutes.
